Working for Microsoft Surface User Experience Team
Microsoft Surface

While I consider myself lucky that I was able to keep busy doing freelance consulting and contract work for over 5 years, the economic downturn finally caught up with me in November when there were no more promising contract jobs on the horizon.  Fortunately, I was able to land a 4 month job working as a UX Devigner (combination of developer and designer) on the Microsoft Suface team, prototyping new user interfaces for the shell in WPF.

Frankly, it's a bit of a shock for me to go back to working 9 to 5 on-site, and I realize now how spoiled I've been.  However, we're doing some fanstastic work and I love being back on Microsoft campus.
Bronze for Interaction Design in 2007 IDEA Awards
IDEA 2007

Rave CRM, a sales tool that I designed for Entellium, just received a Bronze Award for Interaction Design in the 2007 Business Week IDEA Awards.

Follow-up:  This design was also a finalist for the 2008 SIIA Codie Awards and 2007 SoftwareCEO Software Innovation Awards.  (Just wait 'til they see the WPF version we're working on now.)
